Dr. Farzin Ghannad

DDS, MSc, Dip Perio, FCDS(BC), FRCD(C)

Dr. Farzin Ghannad is a Certified Specialist in Periodontics and Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC. Dr. Ghannad completed his DDS degree at the University of Goettingen, Germany in 1996. He excelled in his studies and was awarded the SPD International Student Scholarship in recognition for his scholastic achievements. He maintained a successful dental practice in Ottawa for 7 years prior to coming to UBC for his graduate studies in Periodontics & Implant Surgery. He was awarded the Kathleen McAnulty Memorial Prize in Graduate Periodontics in 2006 and again in 2007.

His studies at UBC led to a Diploma in Periodontics and a Masters degree in Oral Biology. Dr. Ghannad is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the Periodontal Consultant for Vancouer General Hospital. He maintains private practice in Vancouver & Kamloops, BC. Dr. Ghannad currently lectures in study clubs and Hands-on surgery courses nationally and internationally.

He is an acclaimed Speaker and Presenter on Advanced & Esthetic Soft Tissue Grafting in the International Community. His academic achievements and popularity within the dental community and UBC led to an invitation for him to become the associate Director of Graduate Periodontics & Implant Surgery, which he accepted in the Summer of 2010.

Dr Nadji did a gum graft of lower front teeth. As I had heard horror stories about gum grafts, I was extremely anxious. He explained everything. Absolutely no pain during or after procedure. Still in recovery mode and following instructions at day 5 after surgery. So far so good.

My only complaint was PSG wanting 50.00 for pre procedure ....I opted out. Seemed high price for 1 pill.

I needed 2 implants, along with a procedure to build up the bone in my gums. As someone with high dental anxiety I was facing multiple visits over the course of more than a year.
